Mary-Kate and Ashley duo ended concealer.

I have to admit my favourite actresses growing up were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and I may or may not have gotten a little too excited when I found some of their make-up products. I recently purchased their duo concealer and thought I would do a review.

The concealer is both crayon and liquid and comes with a free setting powder that I haven’t tried out yet.

I always apply concealer around my under eye area as I have really bad dark circles due to health issues. I’ve struggled to find a concealer that really gave me full coverage and was surprised when this worked. I applied one coat of the liquid liner under my eyes and presto there was no trace of any dark circles.

Not only is this great coverage it lasts all day. I used this product and didn’t even need my foundation!

I really do recommend this product to anyone with similar issues or even if you don’t like wearing a lot of make-up in the summer this product is PERFECT.

Diet and exercise.

I thought I would update y’all on how my diet and everything is going. I got weighed today and I have lost 26lbs altogether and I am SO excited about it! I frequently get asked what exercise I am doing and what my diet is so I thought I would make a blog about it.

For exercise I am still doing the 30 Second Slim DVD by Josie Gibson and I have to admit I have grown to love it. I do it 5 times a week and when I finish college I will hopefully be able to start doing it everyday. I am currently on Level 2 and I am using weights. I also try and do some kind of cardio 3 days a week like walking or jogging. From next week I’m going to be doing some strength training to try and tone up my arms, thighs and stomach.

For my diet I eat 800 calories in the week and then 1,200 on the weekend. This allows me to eat low calories by confusing my body so it doesn’t go into starvation mode. I’m on a high protein low carbohydrate diet. For breakfast I usually have a piece of fruit and a sugar free cup of coffee. For lunch and dinner I eat things like Salad, egg whites with vegetables mixed in, Chicken, Samon and Weight watchers meals. I avoid things like Pasta, Rice, Bread, Cheese, Potatoes, etc. I try and get any diary I need from Fat Free Greek Yoghurt it’s low calorie, low sugar and fat free. I ONLY drink water. Avoid sugary drinks at ALL cost.

I am taking vitamins to make sure my body is getting everything it needs as my calorie intake is so low.

Top tips:

Set yourself some goals, make sure they are realistic, get a calender and mark on when you want to have completed each of these goals by. Place the calender on your bedroom door so you see it every morning you wake up. This will give you some motivation to complete each of the goals.

Do your workout in the morning so you can’t spend your time talking yourself out of doing it in the afternoon.

If you have a cheat day don’t worry your not going to pile all of the weight back on with one mistake. Just don’t see it as a reason to give up, which I have done a couple of times.

Take a photo of yourself each week so that you can track your progress. Once you see the weight coming off this will give you motivation to continue.

Don’t go shopping while your hungry, you’ll buy things you don’t want too because your body will crave them.

Keep track off what your eating so you don’t eat to much.

I hope this helps you all, good luck!

L'Oreal & Perfume

I have a huge addiction to L’Oreal right now haha. What L’Oreal products do you guys like? What are your favourites? What products don’t you like?

I’m really interested as I want to try some more of there products and do lots of reviews for you all.

Also I’m looking to invest in some perfumes and do some reviews so I was wondering what perfumes you’d be interested in? What perfumes have you tried? What perfumes didn’t you like?

Let me know, I love getting feedback from y’all.

Do you have any tips of getting rid of freckles? Or just making them less noticeable?:)xx

Hello!

I don’t think you could completely get rid of them without some kind of laser surgery, which will be expensive.

Oatmeal is known to both moisturise your skin and reduce the appearance of freckles so try an oatmeal face mask. The same goes for Vitamin E so try a cleanser that contains Vitamin E. Also avoid being in direct sunlight as much as possible, the sun makes freckles worse.

As I don’t have freckles myself I can’t give you advise that I know will be 100% effective, sorry about that. But give the face mask and cleanser a go and let me know if you so a difference.

Thank you for your question, good luck!

Stretch Marks - Rescue Oil

Rescue Oil is a product similar to the popular Bio Oil but a lot cheaper. It’s in similar packaging, contains similar ingredients and is the same colour. Other than the price you really can’t tell any different.

I bought Rescue Oil for £1 from Poundland as I didn’t see much difference to the Bio Oil. I applied this product directly onto my stretch marks every night and after I showered. I used this product for around a month.

I actually didn’t mind the texture once it had sunk into my skin it became very smooth and I did see some reduction in the visibility of the stretch marks on my stomach area but no major differences anywhere else.

If your looking to treat new stretch marks or ones that aren’t that bad, this product may help you. As my stretch marks are pretty bad apart from the ones on my stomach area this didn’t do a great deal for me.

The next thing I’m going to try is cocoa butter. I’ll update you guys on how this goes in a few weeks.

Stretch Marks

I know a lot of people have problems with stretch marks, including me. So I thought I would do some research into stretch marks and let you guys know some of the things I found out.

Stretch marks can be different colours. Brown, Purple, Red, Silver or white. Depending on your skin tone. White or Silver stretch marks are older stretch marks and are a lot harder to treat than when they are just starting out (Purple, Brown, Red.)

As stretch marks are tears in the skin it’s almost impossible to fully get rid of them, but it is possible to reduce there appearance.

There are many different “tips” or “tricks” and products that claim to help get rid of stretch marks. I’m going to try out each one I find and post my thoughts to you guys.

Hello.

Thank you very much!

what exercise and diet regime are u on?

I’ve set myself a colorie goal of 800-1000 calories a day. I know that’s not really healthy but I’m only sticking to that for a few weeks and then upping my calorie in-take. I only drink water, I try and drink around 8 cups a day. As well as this I try and have at least 2 pieces of fruit through out the day. I find if you keep track of what your eating it’s easier to stick to a diet so try the myfitnesspal you can use it online or download the app for your phone. They have a wide database full of different foods and even if you can’t find what your looking for you can in-put your own food.

My exercise regime is I do the 30 Second Slim workout DVD by Josie Gibson 4-6 times a week. I’m currently on Level 2 and I’m using weights. I also try and do some kind of cardio like walking or running 3 times a week.

Hope this helps. If you want me to do a blog in more detail, let me know!

I have really bad stretch marks from fluctuating weight over the years and I have lost a lot of weight but don't know what to do about the stretch marks for the summer... My goal was to not be self conscious in my swim suit but the stretch marks are worse. What should I do?

Hi and thank you for your question.

I have the same problem but unfortunately I haven’t found anything that really works well on getting rid of stretch marks.

I’m currently testing out a few products. I will let you know if I find anything worth buying! I’m sorry I couldn’t help you further.

Have a nice day!

Healthy Foods #1

Every now and then I’m going to make a post on healthy foods I would recommend.

This week is the Longley Farm Natural Cottage Cheese. Which is £1 from ASDA. It’s gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.

Nutritional info per 100g:

Energy: 475kj/114Kcal

Protein: 11.5g

Carbs: 3.4g

Fat: 6.0g

This is perfect to add to a Salad, mixing with some Spaghetti or just to eat alone. It tastes incredible and is perfect for a late evening snack instead of reaching for something you’ll regret.

Top tips for the summertime.

Here are a few of my top tips for the summertime.

1. WEAR SUN CREAM. I think this is the most important one. When the weather is really really hot my friends often don’t wear sun cream and I’m always reminding them. If you don’t wear sun cream it speeds up the aging process of the skin. Also not wearing sun cream is one of the leading causes of skin cancer. Remember to apply sun cream at least 30 minutes before going outside to give it time to start working.

2. Keep hydrated. Water is really good for you especially in the summer because the body becomes dehydrated faster.

3. If you don’t like wearing sun cream on your face buy a moisturiser that has SPF in it.

4. Wear sunglasses. Wearing sunglasses can help prevent cataracts and wrinkles around your eyes.

5. Use a toner with vitamins. Vitamins are really important for your skin. Especially in warm weather. I’m currently using the Nspa Revitalising Vitamin Toning Mist. It’s suitable for all skin types and has the essential Vitamin E to protect your skin.

6. Use a lip balm with SPF. Lips lack a protective outer layer so they’re incredibly sensitive to UV rays.

7. Wear a big hat. Hats are really in fashion. Not only do they look good they protect your head/face from harmful rays.

8. Have fun. I know there is a lot to remember when going out in the sun but if you live somewhere in which the sun is rare then enjoy it.

Favourite TV shows

I know this isn’t beauty related but it was requested so, I’m doing it haha.

I don’t really watch much TV, if I do watch television shows I mostly watch them online either because I don’t have time to watch television or because the show I want to watch isn’t shown here. I watch a lot of American TV Shows.

1. 90210. I love this show. I’ve seen every episode up-to-date. I used to watch it on television but for some reason there not showing the new series here, I don’t know why.

2. Touch. I’m hooked. This show is so interesting. I watch this online, because I’m addicted and America is a lot further in front with the episodes than we are.

3. Once Upon A Time. I watch this online and on Sunday the reason for this is America started the second series way before we did so I started watching it and a few weeks ago they started showing the second series on Channel 5 so I’m watching it again with my mum.

4. Supernatural. I actually had no idea this show existed until a few months ago. I watched a film, I can’t remember what it was called but my mum was like “Oh this is a lot like Supernatural.” and I was like what the heck is that and she was like “you need to watch it.” so I bought the first series on DVD and I’ve been in love ever since.

5. Revolution. I saw the advertisement for this and it looked so original and I thought I’d give it a go. Again, American so there ahead with the episodes so I watch this online.

6. Beauty And The Beast. While I’m writing this all I’m thinking is I watch A LOT of American TV haha. I started watching this because I love Kirsten Kreuk, I used to watch Smallville, I don’t watch it much anymore, but I liked her and saw this advertised. It looked good so I watched it and I’m still watching it.

7. Two And A Half Men. Some people think that this show sucks since Charlie Sheen was replaced with Ashton Kutcher and that’s cool, you know it’s your own opinion but I actually think it’s gotten better. I couldn’t get interested in this show while Charlie Sheen was in it, I don’t know why but now I can actually watch it and stay interested.

8. Pretty Little Liars. This is 100% my favourite show. I can’t wait until it comes back in June. I love the fact it keeps you guessing where as most shows you can pretty much tell who’s done what half way through the series, if that. There’s something different each week and that’s what I love about this show.

9. Pointless. Finally, a British show haha. I watch this show everyday with my mum, if i can, I just find quiz shows entertaining. I like playing a long with them.

10. The Chase. Another show I watch everyday, if I can, with my mum. I love my mum haha. I don’t like this show as much as Pointless but it’s entertaining. I like watching it.

11. The Voice UK. I visited the Voice set a view months ago so I don’t know how I almost forgot about it. Yeah, love love love this show.

Let me know what your favourite shows are. I’m always interested in watching new things. I recently purchased some new beauty products so they’ll be new reviews soon, promise.

Have a nice day!

Garnier Moisture Match

I’m currently using the L’Oreal Triple Action Day Multi Protection Moisturser for Dry/Sensitive Skin which is OK, I like it but I like trying new products so I decided to start looking for a new Moisturiser.

I saw the new range by Garnier and thought I might as well give it a go. I tried the Goodbye Dry, Start Afresh and Protect and Glow.

The first one I tried was the Goodbye dry for dry/very dry skin. I didn’t really like this one to be honest. My skin felt really oily after I used it.

The next one I tried was the Start Afresh for dry/normal skin. I liked this more than the Goodbye dry but I don’t feel like it did much for me. My skin still felt dry even after using this moisturiser. I don’t think I would buy it.

The last  one I tried was the Protect and Glow for Normal Skin. I actually did like this one. The first thing I noticed was it smells lncredibe haha.. My skin looked so alive with this Moisturiser on and I could actually see a difference in regards to the dry areas which is weird since it’s for normal skin. Once I’ve finished with the L’Oreal I may give this a go. I tend to use Moisturisers with SPF during the Spring/Summer time when I’m wearing Make-Up as it’s easier than wearing a sun cream. This Moisturiser has an SPF of 20 which is perfect in my case. I would actually recommend this Moisturiser. It’s currently £5.99 on the Superdrug website.

I think you can still order a free sample from this range of Moisturisers here:

Top Tip Tuesday.

Top Tip Tuesday is a new thing I’m going to be doing from now on where I post tips on just about everything.

My first tip is if you have really bad dark circles under your eyes then apply your concealer before your foundation. It’ll help reduce the appearance of dark circles. The concealer I’m using right now is the Fit Me concealer from Maybelline.

30 Second Slim - Update

I posted a review on the Josie Gibson 30 Second Slim DVD awhile ago and thought I would give y’all an update on how I feel about it now.

After a few weeks I got really bored with this DVD, which happens with most DVD workouts I try, and ended up shoving it in a draw. 3 weeks ago I was going a clean out and thought I would try it again.

First of all I’ve read reviews of people saying they’ve lost 30lbs in 3 weeks, or around that mark. I want to point out there either full of it or there doing something else at the same time because there is no way on this planet doing that DVD four times a week for 23 minutes each workout you will lose 30lbs. I’ve been doing Level 2 4-5 times a week and eating extremely healthy and I got weighed today and I’ve lost 4lbs. The DVD claims you will lose up to 5lbs a week. If your doing it every day and your quite a high weight losing up to 5lbs a week is possible but losing 30lbs in 3 weeks is just NOT realistic to me.

One thing that annoyed me the most about this DVD is the fact Josie’s trainer is good looking I’ll admit that but he just DOESN’T shut up. He’s not motivating at all he just talks a load of crap. “Smile, it’s all fun.” Doing walk lines is NOT fun to me at all. I’d rather hear something like “Your doing good, keep going.” or “You can do it.” Also he’s so sarcastic, when he asks Josie what she thinks about doing lunges she replies “Yeah there good and they tone up your legs.” then he replies “is that why you’ve got such toned legs.” and starts laughing. He’s irritating.

Now I’ve said pretty much everything that was suckish about this haha I’ll mention something I like. I go to college so I don’t have much time to work out and the fact this DVD is only 23 Minutes is awesome. Another thing I like is even though it’s only 23 minutes you sweat your ass off (hopefully literally in my case haha.) You can really feel the burn when your finished. Because I hadn’t done the DVD for awhile my legs BURNED.

So if you need a quick workout and you can get over listening to idiots. I would recomened this. But PLEASE don’t do the DVD thinking your going to magically lose 30lbs because of what other people are saying.

Weight Watchers Foods

I like watching what I eat but I don’t have the time to make every single meal I eat from scratch. That’s why I really like weight watchers ready meals and I thought I would share some of the ones I like with y’all and some that I didn’t like that much.

Weight Watchers make pretty much everything you can think of and even though people make out they are ridiculously expensive you can find them pretty cheap. Icelands have a variety of different meals and deserts 3 for £3. As well as snacks and bread for reasonable prices. Places like Poundland also sell Weight Watchers snacks and bread.

Foods I like:

Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap/Chicken Ceaser Wrap. I’m not sure on the price but I think they were £1.75 each from ASDA.

Chilli Con Carne. 3 for £3 from Icelands.

Chicken Casserole. 3 for £3 from Icelands.

Cottage Pie. 3 for £3 from Icelands.

Beef Ravioli. 3 for £3 from Icelands.

Macaroni and Cheese. 3 for £3 from Icelands.

They also make a wide range of snacks, cakes, breads, ice creams, cheeses, meets, jams, butters and juices/wines some are really nice but I don’t eat them anymore. If you want me to make a list of nice one’s I have previously tried let me know and I’ll post that for you all.

Foods I don’t like:

Korma Curry in a jar. £1.48 from ASDA. This didn’t look very nice but I was trying to find a healthy korma curry and thought I would try it. It tasted about the same as it looked, disgusting. They’ve recently “improved” the recipe but I don’t think I’ll be trying it.

Hot Chocolate with real chocolate. £2.88 in ASDA. £1 in Poundland. I know this isn’t a food but it’s vile so I thought I’d let you know. The chocolate stayed in clumps and bits just floated to the top of my drink. Ew.

Weight Watchers Tortillas. £1.39 from ASDA. They crumbled every time I put something in them. They also don’t taste very nice.

I thought this would be something different to share with you all. So far doing a combination of eating weight watchers and doing a wide range of different exercise DVD’s I have lost 18lbs. Let me know if you want some more healthy meal posts!

Favourite Apps for iPhone

I thought I’d do something a little different and tell y’all about some of my favourite iPhone apps.

1. My number one has obviously got to be the Tumblr app. It’s simple to use and uploads your blogs quickly. My favourite part of this app is when I tried to upload my photos the other day it didn’t take very long unlike some other apps.

2. MyFitnessPal is number two. I’m really watching what I eat right now and I love this app. It has a wide database of different foods so it’s easy to find how many calories you’ve eaten. It’s also got a list of different exercises so it’s easy to figure out how many calories you’ve burned. Not only is this an app but it’s also a website you can use. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ You can set goals and keep track of what weight you’ve lost.

3. Candy Crush Saga is number 3. When I haven’t got much to do I love playing games and right now this is my favourtie. The only thing I dislike is the whole “lives” thing. This game would be so much better if you could play it as much as you want when you want.

I’m always downloading and trying different apps so even though this list is short I’ll keep updating you on different apps I like. Also ALL three of these apps are FREE for you to enjoy. :)
